The University encourages permanent employees regularly scheduled to work 20 hours or more each week to have their net payroll earnings deposited directly into a North Carolina financial institution (bank, credit union, savings and loan) of their choice instead of electing to receive their paychecks in person. On the day before payday, each employee participating in the direct deposit program receives an earnings statement indicating the gross pay, deductions, and net pay deposited. Except for the employee's last paycheck, deposits are made to the participant's checking or savings account as of the opening for bank business on each monthly payday. Direct payroll deposit authorization forms are available in the Benefits Office or the Payroll Office.
