NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION

The National Science Foundation requires the University to administer an Organizational Prior Approval System (OPAS) of which NSF has delegated authority for prior approval of certain revisions. The OPAS-1 Form must be completed and processed through proper channels for approval by the Vice Chancellor for Research. However, there are revisions that still require NSF prior approval.

OTHER OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES

  1. Annual Progress Report (NSF Form 1328) due 90 days after the anniversary date of the grant (Standard grants awarded for two or more years.).
  2. Continuing Grants, the progress report is a part of the annual request for continuing support.
  3. Technical reports are due within 90 days after the termination date or the anniversary date (NSF Form 98A).
  4. Minimum of one (1%) percent cost sharing is required for each non solicited project.
  5. Cost Sharing commitments of $500,000 or more require the Authorized Organization Representative to certify the amount of cost sharing on an annual and cumulative basis.
